![]() Although I had other issues to deal with one new one which I will post in a separate thread. This is what caused the particular issue for me. Because the system failed at boot Windows 'thinks' there is an issue with its installation and enters Repair mode. When I first built a RVE machine I had a Thrustmaster Warthog flight stick and throttle controller hooked up to the PC, The controllers were not compliant with the updated xHCI USB standards and this caused the machine to fail to boot on numerous occasions, but only after post, at the point at which the BIOS hands over to the OS.ĭisconnecting all USB devices except for the mouse and Keyboard resolved this particular failure, then entering the BIOS and adjusting the USB settings from Smart Auto to Auto resolved this particular issue for non-compliant USB hardware.īasically, the problem was that the machine would get as far as boot, but the boot would fail due to a fault event triggered by non-compliant hardware. This issue sounds more like USB related issues. This is how the Windows Boot Options menu appears. Doesn't this method help Press F8 repeatedly while the computer starts up. Then plug the power back in and hold the power button for 20 seconds to see if the computer starts normally. Problem can be caused by defective memory or unstable memory. Force restart your computer by removing the battery and the AC adapter. Try running your RAM at 2133MHz for testing. HELP PLEASE, PLEASE! I've had many many motherboards in years past, all ASUS and never had these kinds of problems? Except now I can only get the ROG Logo and the Logo with the "Auto Repair" message to come up!!! I booted into the UEFI and set everything back to the way it was. Followed it verbatim, made it to the desktop but during my stress test I got a hard reset. Now it's five days later, I've re installed windows and ALL my programs again and I decided to give the guide on OC to 4.2Ghz a go. Searching through YouTube and Google tells me this type of lockup is death, according to the people who had experienced the same before me. BOOM, next bootup, I get this ROG Logo and nothing else or the ROG logo with the statement under it "Preparing Automatic Repair". I didn't want it powering up yet, so i flipped the toggle off on the PSU stopping the boot sequence. I've never had a board this temperamental! First time I installed Windows and got everything just right, I was doing some last minute cable management and accidentally hit the power button on my case. Alright I'm on the verge of sending this board back and getting something different.
